For the next several weeks, students will be learning our country's 50 states and capitals.  Each week, students will be assigned a group of states.  On Fridays, the class will be quizzed on each state's capital, abbreviation, and location in relation to other states.  Students will also be responsible for spelling each state and capital correctly for a separate spelling grade.  Each quiz is cumulative, meaning students are responsible for knowing not only newly introduced states and capitals, but past ones as well.  These quizzes will lead up to a final test on which students must correctly locate all 50 states and name their capitals.
