To culminate our
study of the 13 original colonies, the students of Room 34 created their own classroom
colony and named it Brentsylvania. In order to create their colony, students had to answer questions
like, "Why are we coming to the North America?", "Where are we going to settle?" and
"How are we going to make a living once we get there?" A governor and
lieutenant governor were elected, and the class voted on symbols like the
colony bird, animal, flower, tree, and flag.
