We started our day off with P.E. In P.E. we all run a mile, a mile is four laps around our field, but before we start running we have to stretch. After we stretched, it was time to run. Everyone has certain time limits, the boys must run the mile in ten minutes and the girls must run the mile in twelve minutes.
Next on the agenda was D.M.A. (Daily Morning Activities). One of the problems was, every day the Farmer goose lain a nother gorgous egg. The correct way to write it was, Every day the farmer's goose laid another gorgeous egg. Another problem was,: smell:: flavor : taste. The answer to that problem was, scent : smell :: flavor : taste. The last problem was a geography question. What is the easternmost state in the U.S.A.? Answer: Maine.
After that was done, it was time for spelling. During spelling we corrected last night's homework, pages 299-300. Page 299 was all about stressing syllables. Page 300 was kind of like unscrambling words except you were given two words and you had to put them together to make a spelling word.
When spelling was over, it was time for idioms. No I don't mean idiots. Let me give you some examples of idioms, kick the bucket, which means to die, Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, which means be happy with the present you get. Go out on a limb, which means take a risk. Not playing with a full deck, which means crazy. Push the envelope, which means to push your luck. Shake a leg, which means to hurry. Show me the ropes, which means show me the rules. Tie the knot, which means get married. Put your money where your mouth is, which means do you want to bet?
Following idioms was computer lab. The first thing we did was fast math. Fast math is a program that allows you to practice math problems such as 8x7=56. When we finished fast math, we went to a website called www.letssaythanks.com were you can send someone at war a digital card regarding your appreciation.
Then we started our idiom posters. That means if I chose the idiom killing time, then I would draw someone or something literally killing time. If I chose the idiom cat in the bag, then I would draw a cat in a bag.
Last but not least it was time to go to the band concert. The band was very loud but I have to give it to them, they worked really hard! I played the flute. Most of the band either played a solo or a duet, I played a solo called the red balloon. When it was over Mr. Coley gave us math problems and said, "if you get this right then you can all go home." Then the bell rang and we all went home.
