Today is Friday. On Fridays, we do Friday flag. Friday flag is an event that brings the whole school together. It also announces big events that are happening. Also, it tells who is the shark bite winner.
After that, we went to our classroom and checked our homework. Our homework was spelling pretest, math, and lit. Circle. Lit. Circle is a group activity that we all read the same book then we do jobs on it. The jobs are discussion director, word finder, connecter, correspondent, and illustrator. Discussion director, makes question that relate to the book like what do you think so and so did? Word finder finds words that are in the book you are reading like self-repaired. Connecter is jobs that connect part of the story to your life. Correspondent is a job that writes a letter to a character in the book. Last but not least is illustrator. Illustrator is a job that requires drawing, but you have to make it very colorful.
Then, we went on to our spelling homework. We just past in our spelling test, the paper monitor passes out paper then we get ready for our spelling test. Our spelling test consists of 20 words or 25 words if you are challenge. To get challenge you have to get two or less misspelled words wrong on your pretest. The pretest takes place in the beginning of the week on Monday.
After that was over, we went to do lit. Circles I am paired up with Sammy, Anthony M., Luis, Gabe, and Blake. This time I was doing the job correspondent. We are reading the book Found. It is a pretty good book right now.
Afterwards, Mr. Coley said,” I need to introduce something new.” He introduces something called Kidblog.org. Kidblog is a new type of way to make kids blog just like adults except, you blog about books.
Then we went to math. In math we checked our homework. Our homework was to do this sheet called cumulative practice review lessons one through five. After we checked that, she gave us a sheet called cumulative review practice six through nine. If we got a certain amount of answers right we would get a prize. I got MnM’s.
Upon returning to class, we put away our math stuff and got out piece of paper. The piece of paper was to right down the password we wanted for KidsBlog.org.
Finally, we got to the most exiting part of Fridays, the weekly homophone challenge! The homophone this week was,” what does the man that stares at oceans all day do?” He sees seas. The person who got the weekly homophone challenge was Angela. Angela went all the way and ended up with 5,000 in her case.
Today was a very busy day with a lot of fun things to do though!
